Eminent Domain Abuse
Kelo vs City of New London is a US Supreme court decision that in my opinion, violates the 5th Amendment. Kelo involved the use of eminent domain to transfer land from one private owner to another private owner to further economic development. Kelo is a gross violation of property rights and as a misinterpretation of the Fifth Amendment, the consequence of which can be to benefit large corporations at the expense of individual homeowners and local communities. If elected, I will introduce legislation to restore property rights and strengthen protections for property rights.
